Initial experience was developed at the wellsite as company geologist in the UKCS. Duties involved sample evaluation and lithologic logging, show evaluation, core point selection and casing point selection. Most tours focused on reservoir objective analysis. This included on site whole core description and logging, SCAL sampling, witnessing wireline logging and performing petrophysical analysis. It also included selection and analysis of sidewall core samples, pressure surveys and fluid sampling and analysis.

Exploration management experience initially focused on exploration, appraisal and development drilling operations in the UKCS and Netherlands offshore. Geological and geophysical staffing, monitoring, data acquisition and post well studies from up to five mobile rigs on a variety of different plays including HTHP were coordinated and delivered. Further experience was gained coordinating multi-well operations across a variety of plays in Egypt, Algeria and the UAE.

Later operationally focused projects include UK CNS HTHP appraisal and development, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan HP exploration and appraisal and Namibian exploration

Deep involvement in active operational projects has ensured a continuing personal commitment to HSSE at all times.
